Sheldon Calvary Camp was founded in the tradition of giving. In 1936 the widow of Harry E. Sheldon, founding partner of then Allegheny Steel, donated the land in memory of her late husband to establish Sheldon Calvary Camp. It is in that tradition of giving that SCC continues. Generations of friends and families have given and continue to give gifts to the camp in many different ways. Here are four ways in which you can help share your resources and support the tradition of gift giving at Sheldon Calvary Camp:
YOUR TIME
A great many people volunteer their time to help Calvary Camp each year. The two annual work weekends are wonderful opportunities for adults to come to the camp in the off-season to open, close, or otherwise work on the camp property. YOUR TREASURE
Although Calvary Camp is a ministry of the Episcopal Church, less than 2% of the camp's budget is subsidized by the church. Also, the camp remains committed to keeping down the cost of attending camp and to the awarding of full and partial camperships to those children who come from less affluent homes. It is our goal that cost is never a reason a child cannot attend camp.
