Apply: Applications for 2023 summer staff positions are now available. Submissions are due on Sunday, January 29th. Please note that applicants for the 2023 SIT Program must be 17 years old on June 18, 2023.  Apply for 2023 Summer Staff.

Directors: The Sheldon Calvary Camp Staff is led by two year-round directors: Executive Director – Mr. Tim Green and Director of Spiritual Life – The Rev. Leslie Reimer. The Calvary Camp Board of Directors also provides guidance and direction for the life of the camp.

Summer Program Staff: Prior to each season the camp hires approximately 85 summer camp staff to facilitate summer programs.  Upon being hired, all new staff members have child abuse and criminal background checks.  Summer camp staff attend Staff Training Week at the beginning of the season where they develop as a team, develop counseling skills, create electives for their program areas (i.e. Tennis, Archery, Aquatics etc.), and are certified or re-certified in Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED.

Elective area coordinators and supervisors comprise the summer Leadership Team who help support the overall camper experience. These individuals are typically assigned to a specific elective area and assist with developing activities and overseeing staffing.

Staff-in-Training: In order to bridge the gap between being a camper and a staff member, we developed the Staff-In-Training (SIT) program for 17-year-olds.  The SIT program offers a unique overall experience for 17-year-olds where they get exposure to every part of camp.  SITs spend their time supporting different program staffs (i.e. Experiential Education, Fine Arts, Recreation etc.), helping with daily maintenance tasks, and assisting in the kitchen.  They can also serve as a supporting counselor for a cabin group.  The goals of the SIT program are to provide a wide range of experiences so an individual can gain a larger appreciation for all of the working relationships at camp, to develop their skills working with children, and to help them identify their gifts for a program area the next summer.
