December 15, 2021
As of today, we plan on offering our traditional youth programs in the summer of 2022 and we expect to begin the registration process on February 1, 2022. A great deal of research and planning went into our efforts to host youth camps during the summer of 2021, and that work delivered. Using the information we had at the time, and adopting the very best practices known to us for taking care of individuals living together in community, we were able to make it through the entire summer without a known case of COVID-19. It was a wonderful example of collaboration, trust and cooperation on behalf of the Calvary Camp Board, staff, campers, and parents that allowed for the camp to run so well while in the midst of a complicated pandemic. We appreciated the high level of patience, tolerance, prayers and overwhelming support that enabled us to get our community through an entire summer in a safe and healthy manner! It continues to be a priority for us to host our youth programs knowing that the emotional, spiritual and physical well-being of our young people depend on this kind of experience, especially in the midst of the current climate.
We are once again approaching the summer of 2022 as if we will remain in this cycle of uncertainty and are monitoring the twists and turns of this health crisis carefully. While we are hopeful that we can serve more children in the summer of 2022, we remain committed to doing so in a thoughtful and careful manner. The only thing that remains clear is that the path forward is unclear and it will be helpful if all of us remain kind, flexible, patient and supportive in this confusing and uncertain time.
The 2021 summer protocols have been left on our site so you have an example of the kinds of measures we have taken and may need to take next summer to be in community safely once again. This will be especially helpful for new families being introduced to Calvary Camp for the very first time. We will have a further update as we get closer to the February 1st registration date so please feel free to check back to look for any further guidance that we may have in the coming months.
Thank you for your commitment to Calvary Camp! We remain grateful for our faithful community and those that provide us the privilege to serve.
