Ways to Give
Sheldon Calvary Camp was founded in the tradition of giving. In 1936, the widow of Harry E. Sheldon, founding partner of then Allegheny Steel, donated the land in memory of her late husband to establish Sheldon Calvary Camp. It is in that tradition of giving that Calvary Camp continues. Generations of friends and families have given and continue to give gifts to the camp in many different ways.
Here are some ways you can participate in the tradition of giving at Sheldon Calvary Camp:
Your Time
A great many people volunteer their time to help Calvary Camp each year. If you have ideas or are interested in volunteering time, please let us know.
Your Financial GIft
Although Calvary Camp is a ministry of the Episcopal Church, less than 2% of the camp’s budget is subsidized by the church. Also, the camp remains committed to keeping down the cost of attending camp and to the awarding of full and partial camperships to those children who come from less affluent homes. It is our goal that cost is never a reason a child cannot attend camp. Therefore, Calvary Camp relies on the generosity of past, present, and future members of the community to contribute towards the camp’s financial viability.
There are several ways to financially support Calvary Camp:
Tax-Deductible Donations
Donations can be given any time online or mailed to the camp.
Match Your Gift
Calvary Camp qualifies for employer matching gifts. Please check with your employer’s human resources or charitable giving departments to see if they will match your gift.
United Way
Calvary Camp can also receive donations through the United Way. When giving through the United Way, please use our United Way code #9579.
Other Employer Payroll Deductions
If your company offers contributions through payroll deduction, please contact us to start that process.
