Executive Director

Having served in various roles at Calvary over the years—camper, starting at age 10; summer staff; seasonal assistant director—Tim officially took the reins as Executive Director in 2002, and has lived and worked on-site ever since. With a professional background in counseling, teaching, and coaching, Tim’s expertise ranges from one-on-one mentorship, to group team-building and experiential education, to business operations, to facilities and grounds management, to event organizing… and beyond.

In addition to his many responsibilities during the summer season, Tim also manages the camp’s year-round events and programs. His passion for camp extends well beyond the gravel road, as evidenced by his six-year tenure on the national board of Episcopal Camps and Conference Centers (ECCC), his position on the programing committee for the National Camping Summit of the Episcopal Church, and his role as an American Camp Association (ACA) Visitor. As president of the Ashtabula Foundation and Councilperson for the Village of North Kingsville, Tim is actively involved in shaping and supporting the local community.

Tim’s favorite place at camp is the pond at Fralden Terrace, and he loves a game of Green 8s. His favorite indulgence at canteen? A Skor bar. And when the chapel echoes with the “Prayer of St. Francis”, you’ll find Tim in his element, harmonizing along with the campers and staff.

Assistant Director

Jenna’s journey with Calvary Camp began as a camper in 1997, and continued through her time as a member of the summer staff from 2008-2012. Jenna donned various hats over the years—starting as a counselor, evolving into roles within the Experiential and Aquatics staffs, and eventually as the Developmental Programs Supervisor. Her diverse experience has equipped her with an understanding of the inner workings of the camp and a keen ability to connect with both campers and staff.

Jenna’s current role involves overseeing camper services and registration, providing support to the staff, and guiding the next generation through the SIT (Staff-in-Training) program. For her, Calvary Camp isn’t just a summer getaway; it’s a haven where a special kind of magic happens. She firmly believes in the transformative power of camp—a place where individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and roles can grow and evolve in their home away from home.

Some of Jenna’s camp favorites include: Sour Patch Kids from canteen, playing Hangman for evening competition (she will always be a Falcon at heart), singing “Forty” in chapel, or sitting in Sheldon Hall (it just smells like camp).

Director of Spiritual Life

Calvary Camp has been a place of transformation for Leslie since her first year as a camper in 1964. Camp was filled with unconditional love, deep friendship, and an invitation to wholeness. As a camper and counselor, and working in the craft hall, she enjoyed the day-to-day fun and joy, especially with the youngest campers. She was also drawn to the spiritual life of camp, to the beauty of the lake, the sunsets, and the chapel. The commitment and presence of priests in building the camp community allowed her to see a vocation to priesthood, even at a time when the ordination of women was still emerging. Since then, it has been her profound privilege to serve as a priest for Sheldon Calvary Camp, right up to her current role of Director of Spiritual Life. She is humbled to follow the enduring examples of those who served in their own times, particularly Fr. John Thomas and Dr. Ralph Brooks. Each summer gives her fresh opportunities for helping children and young adults explore their most perplexing questions, experience the boundless love of God, and enter into the hope and transformation that camp offers.
